The greatest game of all time is scheduled to arrive...

and it is the third installment of Super Smash Brothers.

When the first smash brothers came out it was the only game worth playing. When Melee (the sequel for Gamecube) came out it was quite possibly the best game of all time. The anticipation for it was so great, and it delivered in full.

Now the third has been announced to be in production. This makes Nintendo advocates the world over near wet themselves in glee. I kid you not people. The game is just that good.

So, in my anticipation I did what all gamers do when they are excited about a game that isn't yet available to buy. I head for the internet and find out everything I possibly can about it. To my disappointment, though, there isn't much. My main objective was to find out about new characters. There is little to nothing worth finding out there. The rumored ones that seem more than likley are Toad, and Wario.

I also searched the webs vast number of forums to see if any intelligent discussion was going on about possible characters, or even wishlists that might mention chars I wouldn't have thought of. That was possibly the most frustrating thing I've ever done on the internet. To save you all the trouble; NO intelligence goes on in internet forums.

So I did my own research. I discovered that all the characters used in the Smash Brothers series are developed by either Nintendo EAD (Entertainment Analysis and Development), Intelligent Systems (from which come Metroid as well as Fire Emblem), and HAL Laboratory inc. (not only the makers of the Kirby games and Earthbound, but also the makers of Smash Brothers itself). They also include Pokemon, by Game Freak. This is the only 'odd man out'.

Using this information I came up with my own wishlist.

Starting Characters
Mario - The ever resiliant hero of Mushroom Kingdom.
Luigi - Mario's self confident younger twin brother.
Princess Peach Toadstool - The rightfull ruler of The Mushroom Kingdom.
Bowser Koopa - King of the Koopa Kingdom, and Mario's greatest rival.
Yoshi - A helpful and friendly race of creatures from an island bearing their name.
Wario - A greedy psycho, and rival of Mario.
Toad - A resident of Peach's Castle, and one of Mario's oldest friends.
Donkey Kong - A laid back hero from a tropical island bearing his name.
Diddy Kong - Donkey Kong's biggest admirer, and loyal partner.
Link (and Navi) - The Hero of Time, he is a Hylian raised as a Kokiri, and is destined to save Hyrule. He holds the Triforce of Courage.
Zelda/Sheik - The Princess of Hyrule, and member of the Sheika, protectors of the royal family. She holds the Tiforce of Wisdom.
Gannondorf - The King of the Gerudo, who covets the Kingdom of Hyrule. He holds the Triforce of Power.
Skull Kid (donning Majora's Mask, and accompanied by Tatl and Tael) - Once not a Skull Kid at all, but a Kokiri who wandered into the lost woods, he is now overtaken by the geater power of the mask he found.
Captain Douglas Jay Falcon - A bounty hunter and F-Zero champion racer, he stays very secretive.
Samurai Goroh - A bounty hunter, and F-Zero racer, he is also a bandit going by the motto "Steal but never kill". He hates Falcon for he is always outdone by him.
Black Shadow - An evil F-Zero racer, his schemes go far beyond the race track.
Fox McCloud - Leader of the Star Fox Team after the death of his father.
Wolf O'Donnel - Leader of the Star Wolf Team, and long standing rival of Fox.
Kirby - The plucky pink hero of Dream Land.
Meta Knight - Another hero of Dream Land, who often rivals Kirby.
Tom Nook - A trustworthy provisioner from the world of Animal Crossing.
Popo & Nana, The Ice Climbers - Old friends, possibly sweethearts, who defeated an evil condor atop the Ice Mountain.
Marth - A Lord in the world of Fire Emblem.
Roy - Yet another lord from the Fire Emblem world.
Captain Olimar - A heroic spaceman from the planet Hocotate, he discovered Pikmin, who gladly help him.
Samus Aran - A beautiful, but deadly, bounty hunter donning the amazing suit made by the ancient Chozo race.
Ness - An unassuming hero thrust into ridiculous situations, hailing from the average town of Onett.
Mr. Game & Watch - Originaly from the game Fire and Parachute for the Game and watch system, this quirky character returns once again.
Pikachu - The Thunder Pokemon.
Jigglypuff - The Lullabye Pokemon.
Pichu - A younger, unevolved Pikachu.
Mewtwo - A 'superclone' of the legendary pokemon called Mew. Unlike most pokemon, there is only one Mewtwo.

Unlockable Characters
Koopa Troopa - The average soldier in the Koopa forces.
Donkey Kong Junior - A young version of the later tie-wearing hero.
Baby Bowser - A young version of the Koopa King.
Pit - From the two Kid Icarus (Intelligent Systems) games, Pit is a young diety with wings and a bow. He is the hero of the kingdom of Angel Land.
Young Link - A younger more nimble Link.
Dixie Kong - Diddy Kong's super cool girlfriend.
Waluigi - Wario's often denied younger brother.
Dr. Mario - Mario's alter ego as a certified MD.
Falco Lombardi - Once a gang member he is a shady character, yet one of the greatest assets to the Star Fox Team.
Leon Powalski - Wolf O'Donnel's good friend, and long standing member of the Star Wolf Team. He is cruel, and a mercilous killer.
Shy Guy - The Shy Guys are a race of mysterious people originaly found in Subcon, the dream world.
Mew - A pshychic pokemon long belived to be a myth. She is of a benevolent nature, though she is extremley elusive.
Professor Elvin Gadd - The inventor of both Mario's F.L.U.D.D. device, and Luigi's Poltergust 3000.
Funky Kong - Donkey Kong's good friend. He takes only his fun seriously.
Deathborn - A superior villain to Black Shadow.
Tetra - A young pirate captain from the realm of The Windwaker, she is actualy the Princess Zelda.
Blood Faclon - An evil clone of Captain Falcon created by Black Shadow. He competes in Underworld F-Zero tournaments.
K. Rool - A persistant villain who consistently pesters Donkey Kong.
King Dedede - The bumbling king of Dream Land.
Saria the Forrest Sage - She is a Kokiri who helps Link by speaking with him telepathicly.
Dry Bones - Ghosts of Koopas who reside in castle dungeons.
Kanden - An insane being who's purpose was to be the ultimate supersoldier. A popular choice in Metroid Prime: Hunters.
Jeff - A good friend of Ness, hailing from the town of Winters. He lacks PSI abilities, yet is a great inventor.
Dark Meta Knight - Meta Knight when possesed by Nightmare, the greatest threat of Dream Land.
Trace - A young Kriken on his rite of passage. A popular choice in Metroid Prime: Hunters.
Totakeke (AKA: K.K. Slider) - A traveling musician from the world of Animal Crossing.
Donkey Kong Senior - The first Nintendo villain.

Hopefully I've created something worth reading here, for the gamer looking for something to look forward to. Untill SSBRevolution actualy comes out though, all we can do is keep checking rumors that may or may not be backed by Sakurai and his team.

I kinda hope he reads this, in a childish sort of way :)
